Lonely Evenings - poem

Lonely hearts
gazing at the waves
dark sea scary
at least to me
What peace do they get
at Nariman point
Doesn't the gaiety around
make them feel worse
As I stroll along
as always with family
may be I'm wrong
do they choose to be alone?

Beautiful. I like it.
ReplyDeleteThanks. I am glad you like it.

It's interesting to me, who quite often choose to be alone, that couples and families even think about the loners! Wow. I really like this poem. The poem might be an invitation for those who hold fear of the sea or of loneliness to face their fears. Try it!
ReplyDeleteThanks Susan. Pleasure to have you read my words...
DeleteI guess there are those who are alone, and those who are hardly ever alone :)
The sea to some is where they are least alone. I am not the only one who sought solace in the sea.
ReplyDeleteVery true. I guess the vastness of sea is peaceful...
Deletema be lonely hearts can commune easily with the vastness of Nature...beautifully written :)
ReplyDeleteThanks Sumana... that's what I wonder - Lonely by choice or compulsion...
DeleteI do wonder sometimes if people do choose to be alone. Sometimes, I think, we might feel a bit sorry for them....but maybe they are alone by choice.
ReplyDeleteI started of feeling sorry, and then thought the same thoughts that you expressed...
DeleteThanks, Mary!

DeleteLoneliness also finds a way in crowded places. Expressed beautifully
ReplyDeleteYes, it does... though being lonely and alone are not always the same...
